In 2017, I went to Medical school at University of Rwanda.
How I turned into communication artist and consultant is a cool story!
In the first year, I bumped into 2 ideas that changed the course of my career: one, ” You can have brilliant ideas, but if you can’t get them across, you ideas won’t get you anywhere” by Lee Iacocca.
Two “The different between ordinary and extraordinary people is that little extra” by Jim Johnson
I decided not to be another ordinary doctor, and my chosen extra was unique communication skills.
I took courses on effective communication, read books and joined Toastmasters club (late I become the president). I gained writing, presentation, speaking and digital communication skills.
In 2021, on morning in Virology class, my classmate freaked out while presenting on viral infections. I felt sorry for her because I had skills and my presentations were always a benchmark.
I organised a free training on effective communications at university (only paying for certificate). Students showed up in lots. I shared on business writing, public speaking and presentation design.
From that day and on, I have trained over 5000 of youth and young professions, worked with health organisations to develop and execute heath communication strategies, spoke at global stage like TEDx, and coached tens of individuals on communication and made an extra income due to an extra skill.
I believe in knowledge-sharing as an engine for community transformation. I live by this belief through gh speaking engagements, coaching and writing on themes of personal development, effective leadership, effective professional communication, 21st century skills. and healthy lifestyle.
I have co-founded and served as CEO of Genius Africa; Social enterprise to provide personal development tools and content.
